Unimed

Mobilizing the Team for an Aligned Future

For two consecutive years, 2018 and 2019, I faced the significant challenge of facilitating the creation of the strategic planning for marketing, communication, and sustainability at Unimed, one of the largest health brands in Brazil. The challenge extended beyond crafting a strategic plan: it was about aligning and engaging a team of 40 managers from diverse locations and perspectives within a complex organizational context and a healthcare landscape in Brazil demanding fresh visions.

The goal was clear: to build a single, powerful aspiration that would serve as the guiding force for all strategic actions in the annual plan. It was essential to create something inspiring, capable of energizing and uniting all managers around a common purpose.

Solução estratégica

Energizing employees with a bold goal

To address this challenge, I employed the Lego Serious Play methodology, combined with other ideation techniques. This approach allowed for the creation of a collaborative and creative trust environment, where managers could express their ideas in imaginative and tangible ways. Through hands-on construction, the team was able to shape the strategic aspiration and action plan in a cohesive manner, ensuring that all voices were heard and integrated.

I facilitated the alignment among the managers, promoting the co-creation of a shared vision and the construction of a plan that not only met the organization's strategic demands but also motivated and engaged the team to follow a unified and inspiring path.

Excecução

The facilitation process focused on integrating the different perspectives of the managers, ensuring that the diversity of viewpoints became a driving force in building a robust and innovative plan. Using Lego Serious Play techniques, I created a learning and collaborative building experience that enabled the team to visualize and shape the strategy in a concrete way.

The working sessions were dynamic, allowing managers to identify the main strategic drivers and align their expectations and goals for Unimed’s future, always with a focus on engagement and strengthening joint actions.

Outputs

• Strategic Alignment: We successfully aligned the managers’ expectations and actions around a common, inspiring aspiration.
• Engagement and Collaboration: We promoted a collaborative environment that facilitated the joint construction of the strategic plan, motivating the team to work in an integrated manner.
• Tangible Action Plan: Through the co-creation methodology, we transformed the complexity of the healthcare landscape into a clear, structured action plan aligned with the organization’s strategy.
